Firm Philosophy

At the LOCURTO LAW FIRM (LLF) it’s all about YOU – the client. Every case is different and different clients have different objectives.  However, our goal is always the same: To aggressively represent our clients and to obtain the best possible result.

  • In personal injury cases, that goal is to obtain the most money possible for our client injuries and pain and suffering. A good personal injury lawyer knows how to maximize the recovery by building a strong case and supporting it with evidence.
  • Similarly, in employment cases, our goal is to make the employer pay for discriminating against our client in his/her hiring or firing. Employers are liable to pay for that employee’s damages resulting from the loss of their job or promotion including lost past and future wages and emotional distress caused by the humiliation and indignity of being discriminated against in the workplace.

Yes, even in the year 2018, discrimination (on the basis of race, gender, age, disability or other protected characteristic), still occurs. So does sexual harassment. In this modern era, employers know that it is unlawful to discriminate against employees but those in authority, like a supervisor, may do so anyway. If you are being discriminated against or treated differently by your employer on the basis of your race, gender, age, national origin or other protected characteristic, you need an attorney who knows the law and knows how to obtain justice for you if those laws have been violated. Employment laws are extremely complicated and it takes years of experience to recognize and/or build a good case and to perfect a person’s right to sue.

In Law, As in Life, "Bigger" is Not Always "Better"

Often times in business litigation, companies think that hiring the largest and most expensive law firm guarantees their success. This is simply not the case.

In fact, our firm has defeated some of the State’s biggest law firms in all types of business litigation matters – often for a fraction of the cost in legal fees.

We can do this because we do not have the enormous overhead that large firms have.

Providing Aggressive but Financially Sound Solutions to All Types of Business Disputes

In business litigation, what sets us apart is our ability to "think like a businessman not like a lawyer."

This means we provide aggressive but financially sound solutions to all types of business disputes and we avoid litigation whenever possible. Regrettably some lawyers allow litigation to drag on for years, even when a quick resolution may have been obtained, thereby generating huge hourly fees and serving little interest beyond their own.

Unlike large law firms, at LLF, each client is much more than a number or a dollar sign. We work to establish trust and build long lasting relationships with every client. The greatest compliment LLF has been paid by our clients is their continued trust in returning to us every time a legal question or issue arises in their business. LLF now offers budgeted monthly billing to our corporate clients so that for small fixed monthly fee they can have us on full-time retainer and have the ability to call us anytime day or night with any legal question that arises without having to worry about incurring any hourly fees. Our Determination and Resolve Pays Dividends

Perhaps the best way to illustrate our firm’s philosophy is through a real life example:

Our most famous case, PNR vs. Beacon Property Management, Inc., lasted THIRTEEN (13) YEARS and was litigated all the way to the Florida Supreme Court. Our client, PNR was financially wiped out by the defendant's wrongful conduct and could no longer afford to pay us any attorney’s fees after the trial ended.

We refused to give up on our client's case simply because they ran out of money. When the appellate court erroneously reversed the multi-million dollar jury verdict we had worked so hard to obtain for our client, (and they had no money for the appeal), we kept fighting - based on our own resources and resolve.

We stayed the course for the next ten (10) years while the case slowly made its way through the appellate courts.

Needless to say, because of the enormous amount of attorneys' time we put into the case over those thirteen years, it was a net financial loss to LLF. In the end, however, our determination and resolve paid dividends. LLF, through the PNR case, changed the law in favor of consumer protection, including businesses, in Florida for years to come.

Even today the PNR case continues to be among the most frequently cited decisions in cases involving Florida’s Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act, Fla. Stat. § 501.201.
